Your Responsibilities

• Model and simulate optical beam propagation and characteristics for integrated optoelectronic devices, to support the design optimization and verification process.
• Design the beam path and the optical elements used in integrated optoelectronic devices, such as waveguides, bends, MMIs, spot-size converters.
• Develop and specify test methods and procedures for optical performance evaluation.
• Contribute to drafting of product specifications.
• Actively contribute to product and technology improvement.

The Bigger Picture

In the role of Optical Design and Simulation Engineer, you will be a part of the Design team within the Product Development department, which currently consists of 10 dedicated and experienced colleagues. You will have various interactions with colleagues both at the Järfälla site and around the world.

Your workplace is at Coherent´s office in Järfälla, Stockholm. The position is full-time, and the desired start date is as soon as possible, considering any notice period.

Our Expectations

Skills & Qualifications:

• Broad technical competence in the fields of optics, optoelectronic devices and technology, integrated optics, and numerical modeling.
• Deep expertise in specific areas within optics, integrated optoelectronic devices, coherent beam optics, and numerical modeling.
• PhD, or MSc with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in optoelectronics, optics, semiconductor, or electrical engineering.
• Fluent in English, both oral and written; proficiency in Swedish is desirable.
• Demonstrated skills in structure, problem-solving, and initiative. Good communication and interpersonal skills are desirable.
